“I’ve been on the market for a year with no interest, does this mean I need to increase my asking price?” – Almost certainly not. But, if you have been on the market for a year, you should certainly be talking to your estate agent about price amongst a raft of other reasons it may not have sold. See ‘My house isn’t selling, should I change agents?’
“House prices in my neighbourhood seem to have gone up by more than this/ less than this/ down. Why is this? “ – The figures given here are just average figures for the Duchy. Every town and village has its own micro-economic climate dependent on a whole range of factors such as the proximity of good schools, good employment prospects and, of course, access to our beautiful coast and countryside. Even within those towns and villages, there will be hot and cold spots of popularity. Your best bet is to talk to a good local estate agent for your area who will be able to give you honest, experienced advice.
